seriously.. volts light
« on: July 20, 2010, 06:04:58 PM »

volts light is showing.
I've replaced alternator and light is still showing.
ended up buying brand new bosch pack with new brushes aswell and
car is still not firing.
unplugged haltech and hooked up standard computer and diagnostics lights barely flash, sometimes they work sometimes they dont.
any ideas ?
starting to think ive brought another dodgy alternator.

Is it running? if so do you have a voltmeter/multimeter to see what the voltage is with it doing about 2000 rpm, it should be about 13.8V at those sorts of revs.

not running at all. just keeps cranking, pulled plugs out and checked for spark but none at all.
can get hands on multimeter tomorrow.
i just dont see how it could be the alternator again, as before when the old one was broken, the car would still run, only for about 3 hours and then it would go on charge all night just to get to and from work the next day.
somethings draining realllly bad for the led's on the computer to barely show :(

found it !
it was the relay in the green box going to the ecu ! it wasn't connecting.
going to try find new one today. This one has power going to it even when the car is off ? Is that normal ?
